Event box
Hints and tips
This session is designed for undergraduate students.
Reading at university involves more than simply finding information to tell to other people. Instead you are required to compare and evaluate ideas and concepts so you can use them in your writing. Most academic sources consist of complex arguments in which claims are linked to supporting evidence. The writer has a viewpoint which may be different from yours. This session looks at what is involved in reading at university, why it is important and how you can become a critical reader.
