IEEE Citing and Referencing (not relevant to SoSS students) In-Person

This is a face-to-face class at the Edinburgh campus and starts at 1300 Edinburgh time.

This webinar will cover how to cite and reference using the IEEE style, used in Mechanical, Electrical and some other engineering subjects.  It is not suitable for students who need to cite using Harvard or for students from SoSS - there are separate webinars on the APA and Harvard styles.

Learn how to cite and reference using a IEEE style.  IEEE is a numeric referencing style where the citations use numbers, e.g. [1].

Correct citing and referencing is a requirement of university assignments.  It makes your work more credible and can help you avoid accidental plagiarism. This webinar is aimed at those who are new to using IEEE citing and referencing, or those who want a refresher. It gives an overview of the what, why, when and how of citing and referencing, along with hints and tips to make citing and referencing easier.

Examples in this session will use IEEE style, and will also be helpful if you have been told to use a different numeric referencing style like RSC or Nature Physics.
