Fifty Years at Riccarton Exhibition: Guided Tour

Fifty Years at Riccarton Exhibition: Guided Tour In-Person

The Heritage team will be hosting a talk and guided tour of the photographic exhibition, Fifty Years at Riccarton, at 1.30pm on Wednesday 20 November in the James Watt Centre.

Originally based in various locations around Edinburgh’s city centre, after becoming a University in 1966, Heriot-Watt’s student numbers increased rapidly and a new, larger location was identified at Riccarton. The campus officially opened in October 1973 but delays meant it was 1974 before teaching commenced there. The photographic exhibition on display in the James Watt Centre features fifty images of the buildings, places and people that were important to the developing campus.

Come along and find out more about these images and the early history of the Riccarton campus as it gets to the end of its fiftieth year. The exhibition will be on display until August 2025.  To view an online version of the exhibition, take a look at Exhibitions - Heriot-Watt University
