Impact Statement Training WEBINAR Online

This is webinar open to students from all campuses.

What motivates you to undertake your research? Why are you the right person for your project? What difference do you hope your research will make in the world? Having answers to these questions isn’t just a nicety for successful researchers, it’s a necessity. Being able to define your purpose and impact allows you to remain focused and driven, adaptable to unforeseen challenges and resilient when times get tough. It also provides you with a vision for the future, enabling you to plan your career beyond your doctoral studies.

In small groups you will reflect on what motivated you to become a researcher, understanding the core values that define how you interact with others and the world around you. This will lead into defining your purpose and how you intend to make an impact through your actions. Finally, you will craft an “Impact Statement” that brings these various components together and providing you with a bedrock from which to develop. By going through this personal journey with your peers you will have opportunity to learn from each other and form meaningful connections.
