ACADEMIC WRITING 2 FYP 1: Writing your Introduction Successfully Online

This is a webinar run from the Malaysia campus, and starts at 3.00PM Malaysia time. Please check the time in your local time zone - 7.00AM UK | 11.00AM Dubai.

In a final year project (FYP) or dissertation, crafting the introduction is crucial as it sets the stage by explaining the rationale behind your research. The introduction not only introduces your topic but also articulates the significance of your study, laying out the context, objectives, and the problem your research aims to address. This workshop is designed to provide you with a clear structure for writing a compelling introduction, guiding you through the process of answering key questions such as:

- What is the background of your research?

- Why is your study important?

- What are the specific aims and objectives of your work?

- How does your research contribute to the existing body of knowledge?

By addressing these questions, you’ll be able to construct an introduction that effectively frames your research, engages your readers, and provides a strong foundation for the rest of your dissertation.
