Planning for Funding Success: a Guided Introduction to Funding Submission Action Plan F2F In-Person

This interactive workshop will guide you through a structured Funding Submission Action Plan, helping you navigate key stages - from identifying funding opportunities and developing your proposal, to budgeting, peer feedback, and final submission. Learn how to make the most of institutional tools like Worktribe, Pivot-RP, and RED SharePoint resources, and leave with a personalised roadmap to support your next funding bid. Ideal for researchers looking to turn great ideas into funded projects.

Aim:
To support early career researchers in getting started with the funding process by introducing a structured Funding Submission Action Plan and providing initial guidance, tools, and peer discussion to help turn research ideas into potential proposals.

Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the key stages of developing and submitting a funding proposal.
  • Begin drafting a personalised Funding Submission Action Plan for their research idea.
  • Explore institutional tools such as Pivot-RP, Worktribe, and RED SharePoint to support funding applications.
  • Discuss skills and support required, timelines and aligning proposals with funder priorities.
  • Take part in peer discussions to reflect on their proposal ideas and next steps.
  • Identify follow-up actions and set realistic timelines for progressing their funding bid after the session.

Cancellations

All cancellations need to be made on LibCal, no later than 48hrs before each session starts. This will allow a person on the waiting list to attend.

Non-attendance

If you frequently cancel with short notice (less than 48 hours) or fail to show-up, this will be considered as non-attendance. If you miss 5 sessions in the same academic year, we will reach out to you to check in on your wellbeing and notify that you will not be able to book any further places until the end of academic year, unless a valid reason is given. Existing bookings will also be cancelled.
