An Introduction to NVivo for Qualitative Data Analysis WEBINAR Online

Qualitative research frequently involves the collection and analysis of unstructured data, such as interviews, focus group discussions, articles, social media content or open-ended survey questions. NVivo (qualitative data analysis software) can help students organise, analyse and find insights in their data and is a valuable tool in qualitative data analysis. In this session, we will discuss using NVivo for qualitative research, cover data preparation, import and organisation, use sample data to become familiar with various tools and begin to understand the process of coding qualitative data with step-by-step instructions and support.

  • Workshop is suitable for beginners who are not familiar with NVivo or for those looking to refresh their knowledge.
  • Workshop will use the Windows version of NVivo 14, although students can follow along using the Mac version there may be a few areas where there are differences

You will:

  • Understand the structure of NVivo and how it can be used for qualitative data analysis
  • Navigate around the software and become familiar with how it operates
  • Learn to prepare, import and organise data
  • Identify NVivo tools that can be used to fulfil specific tasks for analysis
  • Begin to code data using NVivo
