Assessment is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape student learning - but it’s also one of the most challenging to get right. In this session, we’ll take a fresh look at how we design assessments that are not only valid and reliable, but also engaging for students and sustainable for staff. You’ll consider how to align assessments with learning outcomes, how to make tasks more meaningful and motivating for students, and how to assess large classes. Whether you're designing a new module or refreshing an existing one, this session will offer practical ideas, real examples, and space to reflect on what good assessment looks like in your context.
