Research in Action - Who is the Ideal Academic? Challenging Assumptions to Create More Equitable Careers in Research HYBRID In-Person / Online

This session will share with colleagues the value of EDI initiatives by sharing the work of the EDI Caucus (EDICa), which aims to accelerate equity across the research and innovation ecosystem. The workshop will share our key findings and facilitate a discussion on how colleagues can embed equity into the daily practices as researchers, educators, colleagues and leaders. Through round table discussions, colleagues will be encouraged to reflect on their own day to day equity practices, where they could be strengthened with evidence based solutions and to join EDICa's communities of practice for equity.

Aims and Objectives

  • To learn about the findings of the EDI Caucus and how these can be applied in day to day practice
  • To challenge our (often) unconscious assumptions about the ideal academic
