Supporting Researchers Responsibly: AI in Postgraduate Research WEBINAR Online

This session is for PGR Supervisors

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as Co-Pilot and others, are increasingly being used in doctoral research, from generating text to summarising literature and supporting data analysis. While these tools can be helpful, their use also raises important questions about research integrity, authorship and accountability.

Aims and Objectives

This session will help PGR supervisors on how to critically evaluate the use of AI in postgraduate research practice. Through group discussion and short practical considerations, you will:

  • Understand how AI is being used by PGRs in research context.
  • Identify risks, opportunities and integrity issues associated with AI use in research.
  • Be better prepared for advising PGRs on responsible use and acknowledgment.

By the end of the session, you will learn about considerations you should take when supporting PGRs on the use of AI for doctoral research in order to uphold the highest standards of research integrity.
