Foundations in Responsible Innovation WEBINAR Online

This two-hour session introduces you to the concept of responsible research and innovation and enables you to develop a practical approach to making this framework part of how your
professional development. The session is delivered in two parts. The first part introduces a responsible innovation framework and helps you consider how you might put it into practice. The second session is an opportunity to develop your engagement strategy.

Part 1
An introduction to responsible innovation as defined by URKI

  • What is it?
  • Where it fits?
  • Why we need to consider this?

An introduction and worked example AREA framework

Activity – a large component of RRI is about engagement. This quick-fire activity will help you distinguish between RI and other public engagement/science communication activities.

Part 2
Understanding stakeholders is key to embedding RI into your research. In this session we will cover the basics of stakeholder mapping via a e worked example from biotechnology – Target Malaria
Activity - you will have the opportunity to identify stakeholders within your own spheres and develop strategies to engage with them

Cancellations

All cancellations need to be made on LibCal, no later than 48hrs before each session starts. This will allow a person on the waiting list to attend.

Non-attendance

If you frequently cancel with short notice (less than 48 hours) or fail to show-up, this will be considered as non-attendance. If you miss 5 sessions in the same academic year, we will reach out to you to check in on your wellbeing and notify that you will not be able to book any further places until the end of academic year, unless a valid reason is given. Existing bookings will also be cancelled.
